The Chief PNP, PDG NICANOR A BARTOLOME, Police Director SAMUEL DICIANO (The Director for Operations ), PCSUPT JAIME H. MORENTE (RD, PRO 11), PCSUPT VICTOR DEONA (Deputy Director, Directorate for Police Community Relations), PCSUPT BERNARDO FLORECE JR (Director, PCRG) and other PCOs/NUPs visited the areas hardest hit by Typhoon Pablo particularly in the municipalities of New Bataan, Compostela, Montevista and Monkayo all of ComVal Province.
On December 10, 2012 at 6:00 AM, C, PNP and party proceeded from the Davao International Airport to ComVal PPO to meet the PPO personnel in their regular Monday Flag Raising Ceremony. The C, PNP during his message, emphasized that despite of the tragedy brought by the recent typhoon, every police personnel must continue working in serving the people especially during this time of tragedy.
OIC ComVal PPO, PSSUPT CAMILO PANCRATIUS CASCOLAN conducted a briefing on the actions taken by PNP personnel before, during and after Typhoon Pablo. Also and attendance were Gov. Arturo Uy of ComVal province. Afterwards the C, PNP turned-over to Gov. Uy the relief goods intended for the typhoon victims.
At around 9:30 AM, C, PNP and party proceeded to New Bataan, and arrived at the TOC established by AFP/PNP, located at the New Bataan MPS, where they were briefed by Army Col. De Leon, Task Group Commander of the Search and Retrieval Operation on the status of the operation. Search and Retrieval Operation is still on-going with the help and support from National and International Volunteer groups.
Afterwards, the C, PNP talked to all personnel of New Bataan MPS and gave financial and supply assistance to the personnel such as T-shirts with PULIS marking, food, water and blankets.
PDG Batolome and party later proceeded near the vicinity of the town church in New Bataan to oversee the search and retrieval operations by PNP SAR team and other volunteers groups.
Next stop was at Compostela MPS where they were briefed by the COP on the update of the search and retrieval operations. The C, PNP encouraged all PNP personnel and reminded them to make themselves available when people needs help. After that, he gave financial and material assistance to the PNP personnel followed by an inspection of the damages done by typhoon in the police station.
At noon, C, PNP and party proceeded to Monkayo MPS and Montevista, wherein similar activities were done; reminding PNP personnel to be vigilant and alert, be of service to the people at all times and followed by distribution of supplies and financial assistance by the C, PNP. The C, PNP also talked with Monkayo Mayor, Hon. Manuel Brillantes on the situation of his area.
At about 6:00 PM, the party arrived at Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) in Davao City to visit, PO1 Eddie L Aninion, At 6:30 PM, C, PNP and party then proceeded to Brokenshire Hospital where to visit, PO1 Ryan G Singcol, a member of 11 RPSB who was also seriously injured. Said PNCOs received financial assistance from C, PNP.
Despite of the tragedy, the morale and welfare of all personnel that were visited particularly those involved in the Search and Retrieval operations are high because of the assistance, personal visit and assurance of the C, PNP that their immediate needs will be attended and provided.
