42 Ata-Manobo families granted water reservoir and tub
One of the basic needs of our native brother Ata-Manobo of Sitio Panimbay, Brgy. Paquibato Proper, Paquibato District, Davao City is having a good and clean water extraction for their community. Because of this, their sitio was granted a water reservoir and tub that belongs to the Quick Impact Project (QIP) of R-PSB.
The construction of the said QIP was successfully completed as a result of the cooperation of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB) 11 and PNP Special Action Force (SAF) Revitalized-Pulis sa Barangay (R-PSB) Team Paquibato and residents of Sitio Supporting fund help from the support given by PNP Chief, PGEN DEBOLD SINAS that can help for their better life.
In a simple ceremony, the said reservoir and tub was formally turned over to the residents of Sitio Panimbay under the leadership of PCOL EDGAR ALAN O OKUBO, PRO 11 Deputy Regional Director for Operation with PLTCOL EMMANUEL P CAQUILALA, Deputy Force Commander RMFB 11 ; PCPT AMIER NAIF P MARUHOM, RMFB 11 R-PSB Davao City Supervisor; RMFB 11 and 11 SAB-PNP-SAF R-PSB Teams leading PCpl Jc Mark O Varela; PCpl Arnaiz of Police Station 7 (DCPO); 2 LT ADOLPH RELIEZER G BUENDIA, Ex-O Charlie Company 27 IB 10 ID (INF) PA; Paquibato Proper Brgy. Chairman Hon. Meljoseph P Escobidal; IPMR Representative Hon. Josefina Enlog; and Ata-Manobo Tribal Leader, Datu Jun Banatao.
After the ribbon cutting and blessing, the tribe leader performed a ritual by offering a white chicken followed by an Ata-Manobo youth folk dance performance to the rhythm of ′′ Keumew Nu ‘ k Manama ′′ which is an Ata-Manobo song to call on nature and the great ′′ Hanger ′′ for protection.
PCOL OKUBO announced in his message that a public toilet will be done next for their community and is expected to be realized soon.
Hon is also encouraging. Enlog the native Ata-Manobo to support R-PSB programs and not send to NPA lies and deceit.
Water reservoir and tub will also make their life easier because they no longer need to walk long kilometers to fetch water from mountain springs. The residents here have been extremely grateful and promised to take care of the projects provided.
The ceremony concluded with the distribution of food packs from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and clothes for the residents.
