22 former rebels surrendered simultaneously to Paquibato PS, DCPO
After thorough negotiations and coordination, twenty-two (22) former members of the New People’s Army who are working in Paquibato District, Davao City and neighboring provinces of Davao del Norte gave up at the same time. Formerly sympathizing with Underground Mass Organisation or UGMO with a warrant of arrest at Paquibato Police Station, Davao City Police Office (PS7, DCPO), Paquibato District, Davao City, 10 May this year.
Among the pending cases are the case of kidnapping and serious illegal detention, rebellion, arson, robbery by band, murder, frustrated murder, attempted murder and grave threats.
The peaceful surrender of these has been possible due to the efforts of the officers and staff of Paquibato Police Station led by PMAJ MARVIN C HUGOS, Station Commander and the cooperation of all Barangay of Paquibato District, Davao City, PEACE 911 leading City Mobile Force Company in the leadership of PCPT MARC EGOS and under the direct supervision of PMAJ FLORANTE RETES; Force Commander; City Mobile Force Company; City Intelligence Unit in the leadership of PLT COL NOEL ASUMEN, Chief CIU, associate of Armed Forces of the philippines (AFP).
The said surrender was held in the covered court of Brgy. Malabog, Paquibato District, Davao City attended by PCOL KIRBY JOHN BRION KRAFT, City Director, Davao City Police Office; AFP Counterparts; Chief Barangay of Paquibato District, Atty. Elisa D Evangelista-Lapiña, members of PEACE 911 legal cluster, representatives of Datu Boyson Anib-IPS and Ms. Aileen Mabanding, PEACE 911 focal person who is a guest speaker and representative of City Mayor Sara Z. Duter – Carpio.
