Camp Quintin Merecido, Buhangin, Davao City- Today, June 8, 2022 marks the end of the election gun ban that was set by the Commission En Banc in line with the 2022 National and Local Election (NLE) which took effect on January 9, 2022.
From January 9 to date; wherein bearing, carrying, and transporting of firearms and other deadly weapons are prohibited Police Regional Office 11 has successfully arrested 183 gun ban violators, recovered/seized 174 assorted firearms, 32 improvised weapons, and 710 ammunition.
The aforesaid was the result of the following police operations: 58 buy-bust, 1 illegal logging, 9 operations against loose firearms, 18 search warrants, 2 warrant of arrest, 54 police responses, 28 checkpoints, and 1 Oplan Katok.
Davao City Police Office (DCPO) has the greatest number of operations conducted at 78 which led to the arrest of 85 individuals, recovery of 74 firearms, 14 other deadly weapons, and 281 ammunitions.
Next to DCPO is Davao Norte Police Provincial Office (PPO) at 39, Davao de Oro PPO at 27, and Davao Oriental at 18.
Davao Sur, Occidental PPO, and Regional Mobile Force Battalion 11 conducted six, two, and one operation respectively.
Generally, Davao Region logged a successful, orderly, and S.A.F.E. 2022 NLE despite the presence of gun ban violators.
