Camp Sgt Quintin M Merecido, Davao City- From June 2019- August 2019, the Police Regional Office 11 Operational Plan: “DABAW KALINAW” stood out in a staggering accomplishment and netted 687 hunted fugitives out of the 640 warrants of arrest served.
During the conduct of OPLAN “DABAW KALINAW” operations, this PRO implemented the following operations: Intensified Checkpoints; OPLAN Bakal Sita;
Pulong-Pulong; Provided Medical services;
Anti-Criminality Campaign through flyers distribution; Intensification of Police Presence through Mobile and Beat Patrols; and
Intensified Intel Monitoring in coordination with friendly forces.
In this period, a background check & profiling of persons reached a total of 20,653 Households visited with 22,697 persons were being profiled.
On Community Outreach Program covering the same period, a total of 468 activities were conducted with 27,062 participants who were provided with medical services all throughout the region.
On Community Empowerment Information Activities, a total of 598 Pulong-pulong activities were conducted with 31,886 persons were empowered through information and were provided with information materials (leaflets/pamphlets).
This operation designed to cleanse Davao Region from wanted criminals and terrorists with its key strategy of immersing with the populace by providing of basic health service including lectures on personal hygiene, women empowerment, while at the same time work for community empowerment by educating them of their crucial role in the over-all fight against criminality.
Leading the rank with highest number of arrested persons is DCPO with 290 followed by DSPPO- 125; CVPPO- 111; DNPPO-71; DOCCPO- 34; RMFB 11- 33; and DOPPO with 23.
According to PBGen Marcelo C Morales, Regional Director, Oplan Kalinaw was created through the initiative of PCol Alexander C Tagum and since it was able to surpass the mission and vision of the operational plan, thus, ordered that it should be replicated regionwide, now called Oplan Dabaw Kalinaw, and direct all provinces and Davao City to conduct an activity which aims to promote community awareness on Anti-Terrorism and Criminality; to educate the community from the ill effects of drug abuse; and also conduct Medical Services including distribution of medicinal kits, vitamins, medical consultation and feeding program.
“This program has helped us developed a positive image and perception towards the public, gain their trust and confidence and solicit their active support to the PNP.
Moreover, he asks the general public that whatever programs of the PNP if there will be no cooperation and support from the general public, it will fail.
“Please continue to support us, your PNP. In our part, we are doing our very best to give the quality of service everyone deserves. Cooperate and trust us. I believe that if we are united in good faith, I know our place is bound to progress more and shall continue to topnotch in public safety and development in the coming years,” he ended.
